Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 15, 2025

At netunioncom, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our financial forecasting and budgeting platform. We're based in South Korea and comply with local data protection regulations, but we serve users globally. So let's walk through what happens with your data when you work with us.

Information We Collect

When you sign up for our services, we need certain information to provide you with accurate financial forecasting tools. Here's what we gather and why it matters.

Account Information

Your basic details help us create and maintain your account. We collect your name, email address, phone number, and company information if you're registering as a business user. This stuff is pretty standard – we need it to communicate with you and verify your identity.

Financial Data

Since we're a financial forecasting platform, you'll share budget figures, transaction history, and financial projections with us. This data stays encrypted and is only used to generate insights for your specific account. We don't sell this information or use it for anything beyond providing you with accurate forecasting models.

Technical Information

Like most online services, we automatically collect certain technical data when you use our platform. Your IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns help us improve performance and catch security issues early. We also use cookies – more on that in a bit.

How We Use Your Information

Your data serves specific purposes, and we're transparent about each one.

  • Providing core platform services including budget analysis, financial forecasting, and reporting tools
  • Communicating important updates about your account, service changes, or security alerts
  • Improving our algorithms and platform features based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, unauthorized access, or other security threats
  • Complying with legal requirements under South Korean law and international financial regulations
  • Responding to your support requests and technical questions

We never use your financial data for marketing purposes or share it with third-party advertisers. Your budget information stays private and is only processed to deliver the forecasting services you signed up for.

Data Storage and Security

Security isn't just a checkbox for us. We've built multiple layers of protection around your information.

Where Your Data Lives

Our primary servers are located in South Korea, with backup systems in secure facilities that meet international security standards. All financial data is encrypted both in transit and at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. Even if someone intercepted the data, they'd just see gibberish.

Access Controls

Only authorized personnel can access user data, and even then, access is limited to what's necessary for their role. Our team goes through regular security training, and we monitor all system access for unusual activity. Two-factor authentication is required for all internal accounts.

Regular Security Audits

We conduct quarterly security assessments and annual third-party penetration tests. When vulnerabilities are identified, we patch them quickly. You can check our security page for the date of our most recent audit.

Sharing Your Information

We don't sell your data. Period. But there are limited situations where we share information with others.

Recipient Information Shared Purpose
Service Providers Encrypted financial data, technical logs Cloud hosting, database management, security monitoring
Payment Processors Billing details, transaction amounts Processing subscription payments securely
Legal Authorities As legally required Compliance with court orders or regulatory requests
Business Transfers All user data In case of merger, acquisition, or company sale

All third-party service providers sign strict confidentiality agreements and must comply with data protection standards equivalent to ours. We vet vendors carefully before working with them.

Your Privacy Rights

You have control over your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to do it.

Access Your Data

You can request a complete copy of all personal information we hold about you. Just send an email to help@netunioncom.com with "Data Access Request" in the subject line. We'll provide your data within 30 days in a commonly used electronic format.

Correct Inaccurate Information

Found something wrong in your account details? You can update most information directly through your account settings. For financial data corrections, contact our support team so we can help you make changes safely.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account at any time through the account settings page. Once deleted, we'll remove your personal information within 90 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by South Korean financial record-keeping laws – typically up to 5 years for transaction records.

Opt Out of Communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any message. Note that you'll still receive important account-related notifications like security alerts or billing updates – those aren't optional because they're essential for account management.

Object to Processing

In certain situations, you can object to how we process your data. However, this might limit our ability to provide certain features. We'll explain the implications before making any changes.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to keep the platform running smoothly and remember your preferences. Here's the breakdown.

Essential Cookies

These keep you logged in and remember your session. Without them, you'd have to sign in repeatedly and the platform wouldn't work properly. These cookies don't track you across other websites.

Analytics Cookies

We use these to understand how people use our platform – which features are popular, where users encounter problems, and how long sessions typically last. This data is aggregated and doesn't identify individual users. You can disable these in your account settings if you prefer.

Performance Cookies

These help us optimize loading times and catch technical issues before they affect your experience. They measure things like page load speed and feature response times.

Data Retention

We don't keep your data forever. Here's how long different types of information stick around.

  • Account information: Retained while your account is active, plus 90 days after deletion
  • Financial transaction records: Kept for 5 years as required by South Korean financial regulations
  • Support communications: Maintained for 3 years to help resolve recurring issues
  • Usage logs and analytics: Anonymized after 2 years and retained for improvement purposes
  • Security logs: Kept for 1 year for fraud prevention and security audits

After these periods, data is either permanently deleted or fully anonymized so it can't be traced back to you.

International Data Transfers

Since we serve users globally while being based in South Korea, sometimes your data crosses borders. When it does, we make sure it's protected.

Any international transfers happen through approved mechanisms that meet South Korean data protection standards. Our service providers in other countries must maintain security standards equal to or better than what's required here. We don't transfer data to countries with inadequate privacy protections.

Children's Privacy

Our platform isn't designed for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you're a parent and believe your child has created an account, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy occasionally as our services evolve or regulations change. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and display a notice on the platform for at least 30 days. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when the current version took effect.

You can always find previous versions of this policy by contacting us. If you don't agree with changes, you can delete your account before they take effect.
